High-stakes for Browns’ Breckenridgers

The Cleveland Browns are in desperate need of help on defense and are seeking help on offense.

They could have some big names on the free agent market, and they could sign a new head coach.

So, what can they do to land a head coach?

Here are five players the Browns could be looking at.

Breckenridge, D, Iowa: The Browns have been on the hunt for a new offensive coordinator since the departure of Mike Pettine and the hiring of Matt Campbell.

The team has reportedly turned to former Tennessee offensive coordinator Jeff Chudzinski, who spent the past two seasons as offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Browns could get a chance to interview him for the head coaching job.

Buckner, QB, West Virginia: The Cleveland Indians have made a push to hire Kyle Flood as their new head football coach.

Flood had been with the Indians for three seasons before the Cleveland hire.

The Indians reportedly made a $6 million offer to Buckner in the offseason, but he is reportedly not interested in leaving his post.

If the Browns were to offer him a head coaching position, he’d likely take it.

Garrett, DT, Oklahoma: The Texans were rumored to be interested in the hiring after former Titans offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey retired.

The Texans have also reportedly been in talks with former Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

The Cleveland native would be a great fit with the Texans, who have a lot of defensive needs and could be able to find a great hire.

Hargreaves, DT/DE, North Carolina: The Dallas Cowboys have been in the mix for the Tennessee Titans job for a while.

The Titans reportedly offered the Titans $10 million over five years for Hargreave, and he would be one of the more exciting free agents in free agency.

He’s also a great pass rusher and pass protector.

It’s hard to imagine the Titans not giving him a shot.

Harrison, DE, Clemson: The Titans are looking for a replacement for defensive end Malik Jackson, who is currently injured and will miss the entire season.

The Raiders and Redskins are also in the market.

Harrison would be an intriguing option for the Titans, as he could bring a defensive identity to Tennessee.

Kelce, DE/OLB, Alabama: The Raiders have reportedly expressed interest in hiring Kelce, who was named to the first-team All-SEC team as a junior.

The Colts and Jaguars also have interest in Kelce.

The Browns would not be the first team to reach out to the Tennessee native.

The Detroit Lions are reportedly looking at him.

The New York Giants are also reportedly looking into hiring Kelces’ replacement.
